The Nafha Society for Defending Detainees Rights and Human Rights reported on Thursday that one of the lawyers of the Palestinian Prisoners Society was sentenced to six months in administrative detention without charges or trial.

The lawyer, Hussein Al Sheikh, working with the Bethlehem office of the Society, was kidnapped by the army on October, 10, 2007, and remained under interrogation without charges or trial.

The Nafha Society slammed this violation and said that the Israeli occupation targets every person who attempts to defend human rights and the rights of the detainees who are subjected to ongoing violations.

In a phone interview with Nafha Society, the wife of the Al Sheikh appealed human rights groups to intervene for the release of her husband.

It is worth mentioning that Al Sheikh has six children and is in need for surgery due to a medical condition he suffers from.
