Israeli sources reported Sunday that an Egyptian border guard officer was killed by self-inflicted wounds while he was at an Egyptian military post near the Rafah Border Crossing, between southern Gaza and Israel.He sustained two gunshot injuries in his legs and bled to death before he was moved to a hospital in the Egyptian city of Rafah.
Egypt is investigating the incident to determine what led to this incident.
An Egyptian security source said that the officer accidentally shot himself with his automatic rifle.

Egyptian border guard shot dead near the Rafah Crossing
Israeli sources reported Sunday that an Egyptian Border guard officer was shot dead some 20 kilometers away from the Rafah Border Crossing, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.
Israeli Ynet News reported that the officer was shot in the legs and bled to death before he was moved to a hospital in the Egyptian City of Rafah.
So far, the source of fire remains unclear and the Egyptian Authorities are investigating the incident.
