Leader of Kadima party, former Israeli Foreign Minister of the, Tzipi Livni, demanded Spain on Thursday to denounce the Goldstone report.
The statements of Livni came during her Thursday meeting with Spanish Prime Minister, José Luis Zapatero. She demanded Zapatero to act on upgrading Israel’s relations with the European Union without linking this upgrade with a progress in the Middle East peace process.
Livni welcomes the decision of Madrid to modify its basic law so that international groups would not be able to sue Israeli leaders and officers for war crimes against the Palestinian people.
In Ramallah, Zapatero met the Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, and demanded Israeli to freeze its settlement activities.
During the meeting, Abbas told his guest that the Palestinian Authority cannot resume peace talks while Israeli is ongoing with its settlement construction and expansion.
