Palestinian sources reported on Wednesday morning that a fundamental Israeli settler was mildly wounded during clashes with local residents of Qaryut village, near the northern West Bank city of Nablus.The sources added that Israeli soldiers kidnapped one resident of the village following clashes with the settlers.
The clashes took place after a group of armed fundamentalist settlers attacked the villagers and attempted to annex their lands.
Abdul-Nasser Al Qaryuty, head of the Qaryut village council, told the Maan News Agency that the Bashar Al Qaryuty, 27, was wounded after the settlers attacked local farmers.
Al Qaryuty added that one settler claimed that he was mildly wounded after being attacked by local villagers.
Ghassan Douglas, head of the Settlement File at the Palestinian Authority, stated that a number of settlers attacked local villages and that the Israeli army arrived at the scene following the attack.
Douglas added that the army handed military orders to a number of villagers ordering them to evacuate their homes within a week as Israel intends to demolish them under the pretext of being built without permits.
