Israeli Army Radio reported Friday that Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, rejected in recent months several requests to remove Israeli military roadblocks spread across the occupied West Bank.A number of Israeli ministers asked for holding a session at the Ministerial Cabinet to discuss this issue.

Israeli Internal security Minister, Elie Yishai, said that “past experiences proved that removing roadblocks facilitated attacks against Israelis”.

Netanyahu rejected the request while his office made no comment on the issue.

On Thursday evening, the Israeli army closed the Huwwara Roadblock, near the northern West Bank city of Nablus, and installed a roadblock near the District Coordination Office, east of the northern West Bank city of Qalqilia.

The Israeli army said that the closure came after a settler was shot dead near Tulkarem on Thursday.
