Residents of Al Ma’ssara village near the southern West Bank city of Bethlehem protest on Friday midday the Israeli-built wall on their lands.
Villagers, joined by International and Israeli supporters marched from the village towards the wall construction site in their land.
Israeli troops erected a checkpoint using razor-wire and stopped the marchers from reaching the wall. Soldiers used batons and riffle buts to push the villagers away from the construction place.
Organizers delivered speeches demanding Israel to stop building the wall and settlement, emphasizing that there can be no peace as long as the wall and settlement continue to deprive Palestinians from their land. People dispersed shortly after. Today’s protest was in commemoration of the Palestinian Nakba of 1948.
