Israeli soldiers kidnapped three peace activists in Sheikh Jarrah, a Palestinian neighborhood in occupied East Jerusalem during the weekly protest against occupation and extremist settlers who took over Arab homes in the neighborhood. The army was extensively deployed in the area and tried to prevent the activists from conducting their weekly nonviolent protest.

Some 300 Palestinian residents of Sheikh Jarrah and dozens of Israeli and international peace activists conducted their weekly nonviolent protest, and chanted slogans against settlements and the occupation.

Several protestors carried Palestinian flags and signs written in different languages demanding the settlers to leave the occupied Palestinian homes, and demanding Israel to stop its apartheid policies against the Palestinians in Sheikh Jarrah.

They also chanted slogans against the occupation and the Israeli plans that aim at emptying the city from its indigenous people.
