For the first time since Israel imposed the siege on Gaza on June of 2007, Israel decided to allowed the entry of auto parts to the Gaza Strip.Engineer Raed Fattouh , in charge of Palestinian Committee in charge of the entry of goods into Gaza, stated that Israel decided to open the Kerem Shalom (Karem Abu Salem) in order to allow the entry of nearly 170 trucks loaded with goods and supplies.

This includes five trucks loaded with vehicle oils and auto parts; this would be the first time such goods are allowed into Gaza since Israeli imposed the strict siege on Gaza.

Fattouh said that limited amounts of cooking gas will be allowed into Gaza in addition to industrial fuel to be used by the Gaza power plant.

On Sunday, Israel allowed the entry of 15560 kilos of cooking gas and 339028 industrial fuel via the Kerem Shalom crossing, south of the Gaza Strip.
