Egyptian security sources reported Sunday that a senior Hamas leader was arrested by Egyptian security officers at the Cairo International Airport.The leader was identified as Mohammad Dabbash, head of the general security forces that belong to the dissolved Hamas government in Gaza. Dabbash is from Sheikh Radwan neighborhood in Gaza city.
The Egyptian sources said that the arrest of Dabbash is connected to wireless communication systems that were caught and confiscated by Egypt before they were to be smuggled through the tunnels to Gaza. The Equipment is estimated by millions of US Dollars.
Speaking on condition of anonymity, a Hamas source warned that the arrest of Dabbash would cause further tension in the relations between Hamas and Egypt.
