Israeli sources reported that a security guard working at a kibbutz, in the Eshkol Regional Council in the Negev, was wounded, on Wednesday, at night after Palestinian fighters fired mortars into the area. The man was hit by shrapnel in his neck and was moved to Soroka hospital in Be’er Sheva, Israeli daily Haaretz reported. His wounds were described as mild-to-moderate.
Israeli military sources reported that Palestinian fighters in Gaza fired four shells into the Western Negev.
On Wednesday afternoon, a mortar shell hit a home at the She’ar Hanegev area in the Western Negev, no injuries were reported as home was empty during the time of the attack.
Earlier this month, Israeli soldiers killed two Palestinian fighters who were reportedly attempting to infiltrate through the border with Gaza.
The two fighters allegedly tried to lay explosives at a security fence near Kibbutz Kfar Aza, Haaretz said.
