Villagers from at-Tuwani, in the southern West Bank region, discovered, on Wednesday, that olive groves belonging to residents of the village had been attacked, with six trees destroyed. Residents believe that the attack was carried out by settlers from the outpost of Havat Ma’on.Speaking to NGO workers in the area, Fadil Ahmed Raba’i, a resident of the village, believes that the attack was part of the continued attacks by settlers following the murder of the Fogel family from the settlement of Itamar.

No proof has been given by Israeli security services that the murder was perpetrated by a Palestinian, although this has not prevented these settler actions, nor senior members of the Israeli government, such as Prime Minister, Benjamin Netenyahu, repeatedly making statements accusing Palestinians to the media.

The village of at-Tuwani suffers form regular attacks from settlers since the construction of settlements in the region in the 1980s. The most recent came on February 21 of this year when three fruit bearing olive trees were damaged.
