A Palestinian shepherd has been seriously wounded on Friday by Israeli gunfire, according to Agence France Presse and Lebanese news site, al-Akhbar.Quoting Palestinian security sources, al-Akhabr states that the 18 year old man, named as Yasser Kaabneh, was tending to his flock north of the city of Tubas in the northern part of the Jordan Valley.
Kaabneh was transferred to a hospital in Nablus where his condition has been listed as serious following a gun shot wound to the chest.
An Israeli military spokesperson has stated that they have no knowledge of the incident, nor have they received any complaint.
As yet it remains unclear as to the reason for the young man’s shooting, or whether the act was carried out by a member of the Israeli settler population, who carry out frequent acts of violence towards Palestinians living in the Jordan Valley, or from a member of the Israeli military, who carry out training drills in the region.
