The fifth annual festival of nonviolent popular resistance was celebrated by Palestinians in the village of Um Fagarah in the hills south of Hebron on Saturday according to Ma’an news. The tiny village is surrounded by Israeli settlements and is in a closed military zone. But Saturday children released balloons and performed traditional dances at the end of their summer camp.
The Israeli military arrived midway through the celebration which prompted local elders to move the festivities back into the heart of the village to protect the children, but the celebration continued on peacefully as seen in the accompanying pictures from Ma’an news.
