[Monday, January 20, 2014] An Israeli force raided former prisoner Samer al-Issawi’s home in the Issawiyeh District of occupied east Jerusalem, local media said.
Shireen al-Issawi, Samer’s sister, said that Israeli forces broke into their home yesterday afternoon, handing Samer a summons to visit the intelligence office, according to Al Ray Palestinian Media Agency. She said that her brother refused to obey the summons.
Isawiwas released from prison a month ago, after going through an internationally observed 270-day hunger strike in protest of Israel detaining him without trial.
Israel arrested him soon after his release, under a prisoner exchange deal with Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas, in October 2012, which saw the release of 1,047 prisoners.
Israel still holds some 5,000 Palestinians in its prisons.
