Rami Hamamra, the head of Husan Village Council, stated that the soldiers invaded the village and closed the Um Hindi area while firing numerous live rounds.
Hamamra added that the soldiers then sealed off the entire area before dispatching additional military vehicles and an ambulance.
Abdul-Halim Ja’afra, the head of the Bethlehem branch of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS), reported that the PRCS received a call regarding injuries in the area.
However, he added that the soldiers prevented PRCS medics from reaching the scene, leaving them unable to provide treatment. Later on, an Israeli ambulance was seen in the area, but no information was provided.
“The PRCS could not obtain details, especially regarding the extent of injuries, despite reports indicating that one of the Palestinians was fatally injured,” Ja’afra stated.
Hamamra further noted that the soldiers closed all entrances to the village, preventing Palestinians from entering or leaving.
The Israeli army claimed that its soldiers opened fire on Palestinians who allegedly threw stones at military jeeps on a settler road, known as Route 375, near Husan.
It stated that one Palestinian was “eliminated and another was hit”, while reporting no injuries among its soldiers.
So far, the name and additional information regarding the slain Palestinian and the injured remain unknown.
