[Tuesday Evening, March 18, 2014] Palestinian medical sources have reported that several Palestinians have been injured during clashes which took place with Israeli soldiers near the al-Jalazonerefugee camp, north of Ramallah. The sources said that the soldiers fired several gas bombs, causing dozens of residents to suffer the effects of tear gas inhalation, and that four Palestinians were shot with rubber-coated metal bullets.
Eyewitnesses said dozens of young Palestinian men prevented the soldiers from invading various neighborhoods in the refugee camp, hurling stones and empty bottles at them.
In related news, Israeli military sources claimed that live rounds were fired towards the Beit El settlement, nearby, but reported no injuries.
Clashes took place after Israeli soldiers closed the main road between Ramallah and the al-Jalazoun, and installed a sudden roadblock at the entrance of the camp, preventing Palestinians from crossing.
