Several Palestinians were injured, on Thursday, during clashes between Israeli soldiers and Palestinians in the Bethlehem village of Tuqu, locals said.Israeli soldiers fired rubber-coated steel bullets and tear gas canisters at school students in Tuqu after raiding the village, according to the witnesses.
Several students and local residents suffered light injuries as a result of the tear gas.The attack comes amidst a peaceful rally in support of prisoners, marking Palestinian Prisoner’s Day.
Four settlers were also injured during the clashes and taken for treatment in the illegal settlement of Efrat, Ma’an reports.
An Israeli army spokeswoman did not immediately return calls seeking comment.
