Israeli President Shimon Peres’ visit to Norway was met with mass demonstrations organized by popular human rights organizations and leftist parties calling for his expulsion, on Tuesday, according to Al Ray Palestinian Media Agency.26 human rights organizations and Norwegian leftist parties issued a joint statement expressing their anger over Peres’ visit, due to the historically ongoing and unacceptable violations by Israel against the Palestinian people and their property.

The statement also criticized the Norwegian government in inviting Peres, calling on them to instead try Peres and the Israeli army for their crimes, rather than honor him in such a way. The demonstrators gathered outside the royal palace to publicly condemn the meeting of Peres with King Harald V.

According to Al Ray, the protesters are to organize more demonstrations during the visiting period, which is to last for three days.
