[Tuesday, May 20, 2014] Israeli soldiers invaded Jenin city, in the northern part of the West Bank, as well as the Jenin refugee camp, kidnapping one Palestinian and attacking various buildings, in addition to causing damage to water and electric infrastructure, damage to a number of homes and a local hospital.Eyewitnesses told the WAFA News Agency that more than 40 armored military vehicles carried out the invasion into Jenin and its refugee camp, before soldiers kidnapped one Palestinian identified as Qais Mazen as-Sa’dy, 22,
They added that the soldiers fired rounds of live ammunition, concussion grenades, and gas bombs, in addition to rubber-coated metal bullets.
The soldiers broke into and violently searched several homes after forcing the families out and interrogated dozens of residents in the eastern area of Jenin city, and in the Jenin refugee camp.
The violent Israeli attack led to significant damage in infrastructure and electricity poles.
Dozens of soldiers also invaded the Jenin Hospital and its emergency unit after firing several rounds of live ammunition and gas bombs into the hospital’s main yard; property damage and several injuries were reported.
Several soldiers, including undercover units, broke into homes, where they used the rooftops as military towers, in addition to causing excessive property damage. Soldiers also threw a bomb into a well belonging to a resident identified as Ahmad Khaled as-Sa’dy ,in the eastern neighborhood in Jenin city.
They also searched homes and interrogated several Palestinians in the Jenin refugee camp.
The invasion led to clashes between the soldiers and local youngsters who threw stones and empty bottles at the invading soldiers. Several Palestinians received treatment for the effects of tear gas inhalation.
