The Israeli government announced, Thursday, bids for the construction of 283 units in an illegal settlement, west of the central West Bank city of Ramallah.The “Civil Administration Office’, run by the Israeli military in the occupied West Bank, prepared all structural maps and plans, as well as the licenses for the new constructions, an issue which indicates Israel is ready to start the actual construction.
In addition, the Israeli Municipality in Jerusalem announced, in a Thursday press release, a plan to build 2,200 new constructions in East Jerusalem. http://www.imemc.org/article/69032

Israel’s settlements in the occupied West Bank, including in and around occupied East Jerusalem, are illegal under International Law and the Fourth Geneva Convention, to which Israel is a signatory.
Settlements and the Apartheid Wall are isolating and further fragmenting the occupied West Bank, and are causing the Palestinians to lose most of their lands, and are also isolating thousands of dunams of Palestinian orchards.
