A group of Israeli settlers, early Sunday, stormed Al Aqsa Mosque courtyards from Al Magariba gate, under heavy guard by Israeli police, and attacked students, according to local sources.Director of the mosque, Sheikh Omar Kiswani, told Al Ray Palestinian Media Agency that about 10 settlers stormed Al Aqsa in the morning hours, wandering in different parts of its courtyards.
Hundreds of students who had been visiting the mosque since early morning confronted the settlers with chanting, Kiswani further explained.
Extremist settlers and politicians have been violating the sanctity of Al Aqsa Mosque on an almost daily basis and always under the protection of armed occupation forces, who often attack Palestinian worshipers who try to protect their holy site.
