Human rights group condemn death sentence and Israeli soldiers demolish Palestinian structures during invasions targeting the West Bank. These stories, and more, coming up, stay tuned.
Israeli soldiers demolished, on Wednesday at dawn, several commercial and residential structures in the al-‘Ezariyya town, east of occupied East Jerusalem, after surrounding the town and invading it.
The demolished structures were removed for the construction of a section of the Annexation Wall in the area, local sources reported.
According to witnesses, undercover units, police officers and personnel of the “Civil Administration Office,” run by the army in the occupied West Bank, carried out the destruction of the Palestinian properties.
The demolished buildings are a mobile home, and seven trade structures used for selling furniture, fruits and vegetables, a car wash facility and a store for selling silverware.
In other news, Israeli forces kidnapped, on Wednesday, 32 Palestinians citizens in several cities and villages across the occupied West Bank.
Homes searches and kidnappings were reported in the districts on Hebron and Bethlehem, southern West Bank in addition to the central West Bank district of Ramallah in addition to Nablus in the north and Jericho.
In other news, the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR) reiterates its call for the abolition of death penalty in the PA controlled areas. The call came after the Permanent Military Court in Gaza City, acting as a court of First Instance, sentenced a man from Gaza city to death by firing squad after convicting him of collaboration with a foreign hostile entity.
the total number of death sentences issued by the PA since 1994 has risen to 161, of which 133 has been issued in the Gaza Strip and 28 in the West Bank. Among those issued in the Gaza Strip, 76 have been issued since Hamas took over the Gaza Strip in 2007.
The Palestinian Authority also executed 32 death sentences, of which 30 have been executed in the Gaza Strip and 2 in the West Bank. Among those executed in the Gaza Strip, 19 have been executed since 2007 without ratification by the Palestinian President in violation of the law.
