Scores of residents joined family members and friends and marched in Aida refugee camp, north of Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank in the funeral procession of Abdul-Rahman Obeidallah, 12, who was killed by an Israeli army sniper on Monday. People marched from Aida refugee camp towards the local graveyard which is surrounded by the Israeli wall and checkpoint 300 that separate Bethlehem from Jerusalem.
After the funeral, local youth marched towards the Israeli wall and nearby checkpoint were they were met by Isralei troops’ live gunfire, rubber-coated steel bullets and tear gas.
Medical sources said that there are a number of injures by Israeli rubber-coated steel bullets. Up until the time of this report, clashes are still ongoing near the Israeli wall in Bethlehem city.
Moreover, Palestinian sources reported clashes between local youth and Israeli troops and the village of Taqu’a near Bethlehem. Medical sources said that three youth were injured durnsg the ongoing clashes there.
