Commemorating Land Day, Combatants for Peace Movement, in collaboration with a number of Palestinian and Israeli Peace NGOs, organized on Friday April 1 2016 the monthly peaceful demonstration against the occupation and the violence it creates.
Protesters marched from the tunnel checkpoint in Beit Jala to road 60 until they reached the roundabout leading to Batier village. There participants plant olive trees to show their rejection to the settlements and occupation of Palestinian land.
“Land Day memory is a constant remainder that the Israeli policy of settlement expansion and takeover of Palestinian land only lead for more violence and injustice..” Soliman Al Khateeb – Palestinian Manager of CFP.
Combatants for Peace Movement calls for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with its capital Jerusalem. CFP uses nonviolent means and call on both nations to join us to achieve peace and reconciliation between Palestinians and Israelis.
CFP is a group of Palestinians and Israelis who have taken an active part in the cycle of violence in the region: Israeli soldiers serving in the army and Palestinians as combatants fighting to free their country, Palestine, from the Israeli occupation.
