By The Palestinian News & Info Agency (WAFA): The Arab League rejected today, Israel’s new settlement project north of occupied Jerusalem.

In a statement, the Arab League Assistant Secretary-General for Palestine and the Occupied Arab Territories, Saeed Abu Ali, called on the international community represented by its states and organizations, especially the United Nations and the Security Council, to declare its rejection and condemnation of this dangerous settlement project.

He urged for concrete pressure on Israel to stop such projects which are being implemented in defiance of the will of the international community, international law and relevant United Nations resolutions.

He stressed that these settlement projects undermine all potentials of the two-state solution.

Abu Ali also condemned the visit that US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo intends to make to an Israeli settlement in the occupied Palestinian territory as well as the occupied Syrian Golan Heights in an “attempt to consolidate settlement and annexation.”

The Arab League official stressed that the visit constitutes a precedent, as all US secretaries of state have abstained from doing this act, adding that this confirms the Donald Trump administration’s resolve to implement its policies and projects that are contrary to the law and UN resolutions and confirms its partnership with Israel in the crimes of settlement, annexation, and Judaization that the entire world condemns and rejects.
