Israeli soldiers shot and injured, on Monday, a Palestinian child in Johr ed-Deek area, in central Gaza, while he was herding the family cattle in Palestinian lands, close to the border fence.
Medical sources said the child Amir at-Tarabeen, 13, suffered a moderate injury after being hit with a live round fired by the soldiers.
The Israeli army frequently opens fire on Palestinians shepherds, farmers and workers in all borders areas in the besieged Gaza Strip under the pretext of approaching or entering the “buffer zone.”
Israel enforces this buffer zone inside border area in the Gaza Strip to prevent the Palestinians from approaching the border fence, yet, these areas are in fact Palestinian lands, largely agricultural lands, inside the Gaza Strip.
Such Israeli attacks and violations are also frequent against Gaza fishers in Palestinian territorial waters, and have led to dozens of casualties, including many fatalities, and numerous abductions.
