Day 150: Israel Again Bombs Rafah “Safe Zone”

Mar 4, 2024 at 09:37

Early Monday morning, the 150th day of Israel’s bombardment and destruction of Gaza, a number of Palestinians were killed and others were injured, when Israeli occupation aircraft targeted a house in Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip.

Medical sources reported that at least 7 Palestinians, including children and women, were killed when the Israeli occupation warplanes bombed a house belonging to the Madi family in Khirbet Al-Adas, north of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip. Dozens were wounded, and others remain missing under the rubble of the destroyed home.

The Israeli occupation planes also bombed a house for the Radwan family in the Al-Ternis area in the Jabalia camp, north of Gaza.

Israeli occupation warplanes also bombed four homes in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City, which led to the death and injury of a number of Palestinians, while the Israeli occupation artillery fired shells at Palestinian homes in the Al-Sabra and Al-Rimal Al-Janobi neighborhoods in Gaza City, which led to casualties among civilians. Casualties include children and women.

The Israeli occupation artillery also bombed two houses in the town of Beit Lahia, north of the Gaza Strip, wounding a number of citizens with varying injuries. They were taken to Kamal Adwan Hospital in Jabalia.

Our correspondent said that the occupation aircraft bombed a house in the Nuseirat camp, and another in the city of Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip, which led to the death of two citizens and the injury of a number of others. The victims were transferred to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in the city.

A number of Palestinians were injured as a result of the Israeli occupation warplanes targeting a house in the Bureij refugee camp in the middle of the Gaza Strip. The occupation warplanes also launched a raid on a house for the Radwan family in the Jabalia camp in the north, coinciding with the Israeli occupation artillery firing several shells towards civilians’ homes in the camp, which resulted in a number of civilians being injured.

To the south, 12 citizens, including children, were martyred when the occupation warplanes targeted two homes for the Madi family, north of Rafah, and the Al-Gharib family, in the center of the city

On the 150th day of the war on Gaza , the occupation aircraft intensified raids on Rafah, which Israel had previously declared to be a ‘safe zone’ for Palestinians displaced from the rest of Gaza. This coincided with the escalation of the Israeli forces’ campaign storming several areas in the West Bank , including Tulkarm , Jenin , Ramallah, Al – Bireh, and Qalqilya, and bombing the house of a martyr in Nablus .

Politically, delegations from Hamas, Qatar , and the United States arrived in Cairo on Sunday to hold a meeting between mediators with the aim of achieving a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, while Israel said that it would not send any delegation to the Egyptian capital until it obtained a complete list of the names of Israeli detainees in Gaza who are still alive.

In an indication of the intensification of disagreements within the Israeli War Council, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sent directives to the Israeli embassy in Washington, according to which he ordered the embassy not to provide services to War Council member Benny Gantz or to accompany him on his visit, which he began yesterday, Sunday, to the United States to meet with American officials.

Day 150 of the Israeli invasion of Gaza means that this invasion has entered its the fifth month. Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip has left more than 30,410 Palestinians killed, the majority of whom are children and women, and more than 71,700 injured. This is in addition to thousands of victims still under the rubble and on the roads, as the Israeli occupation prevents ambulance and rescue crews from reaching them.

Over the past several days, numerous human rights groups, including Amnesty International, have confirmed the deaths of numerous children and elderly people from malnutrition in Gaza.
