Palestinian medical sources confirmed the death of three children, including two infants, due to hunger and malnutrition in the devastated Gaza Strip, bringing the number of Palestinians who died from malnutrition to 28, including 21 children.

Palestinian journalist working for Al-Jazeera, Anas Sharif, said on X: “On the first day of the holy month of Ramadan, the infant girl Walaa Sammour and the infant girl Walaa Ziyada were martyred in Kamal Al-Adwan Hospital. As a result of malnutrition and lack of medicine in the northern Gaza Strip.”

The Health Ministry stated that the death toll due to famine and diseases is higher, especially since many Palestinians, mainly in northern Gaza, are facing dire conditions and are almost completely cut off from the already limited humanitarian aid entering the Gaza Strip through the Rafah border terminal.

In a statement, Defense For Children International – Palestine Branch, said the Israel starvation of Gaza, is a political and deliberate choice made by Israel and backed by the Biden Administration in the United States.

Medical sources said at least two Palestinians were killed and many were injured when the army fired missiles at areas in central Gaza and were moved to the Al-Aqsa Hospital.

Many Palestinians were also killed and injured by Israeli missiles and shells in the Rimal neighborhood and several surrounding areas, in the center of Gaza City.

The Israeli attack killed three Palestinians and injured a woman and two children who were rushed to a hospital for treatment.

On its part, the Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR) said the army fired a missile at the home of its deputy head of the fieldwork unit, Yasser Abdul-Ghafoor, in the Al-Mawasi area in Khan Younis, killing his family.

“Israeli forces fired several artillery shells at displaced families in al-Mawasi, west of Khan Younis, designated by Israel as a safe evacuation zone,” PCHR said, “As a result, 14 civilians from the displaced families were killed, including four children and three women, while eight others were injured. Among the casualties were 10 civilians from Yasser Abdul-Ghafour’s family.”

“Since October 7, many houses belonging to colleague Yasser’s family had been repeatedly bombed in Khan Younis, killing tens of them while many are still trapped under the rubble of their destroyed houses,” PCHR added, “Among the victims were Yasser’s sisters, brothers and uncles who were killed with their sons and daughters. Those who survived fled from Khan Younis to seek refuge in the al-Mawasi area, where they were bombed again.”

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) said Gaza is starving as Ramadan begins and called for an “immediate ceasefire” during the holy month.

The Palestinian Health Ministry said Israel also continued its massacres against entire families, killing 67 Palestinians, and wounding at least 106, mostly children and women, in several parts of the Gaza Strip in the last 24 hours.
