On Monday, Day 164 of the ongoing Israeli genocide of the Palestinians in the devastated Gaza Strip, the Israeli army invaded the Shifa Medical Center, and bombarded various parts of the coastal enclave, killing dozens and wounding hundreds, in addition to abducting scores of Palestinians, including medical staff.
Update: Late on Monday night, the army fired missiles and shells at two homes and an apartment in several parts of Rafah, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, killing at least fourteen Palestinians and wounding dozens.
The targeted homes and the apartment are in the areas of Mosbeh, Khirbat Al-Adas, and the Al-Jneina neighborhood.
The Israeli army also fired dozens of artillery shells at areas in the eastern part of the Jabalia refugee camp, in northern Gaza.
Mar 19, 2024 at 00:34: The Israeli army invaded the Shifa Medical Center in Gaza, after surrounding and isolating it, before killing at least twenty and wounding dozens.
The army first started firing barrages of live rounds at windows and doors of the medical facility, killing at least twenty Palestinians, before storming it and abducting more than 200 Palestinians.
The army also fired many shells at the medical center and around it, killing and wounding dozens of Palestinains, mostly women and children.
Al-Jazeera said that the army released its correspondent Ismael Al-Ghoul, and many other journalists, who were among the abducted Palestinians in the Shifa Hospital, after detaining them for more than twelve hours.
Ismael said the soldiers forced the abducted journalists to remove all their clothes before detaining them.
The army also fired many shells at parts of the Shifa Hospital and assassinated Lieutenant Fayeq Al-Mabhouh who oversaw negotiations between tribes in northern Gaza and the UNRWA to ensure the entry of humanitarian supplies.
In addition, the soldiers killed and injured dozens of Palestinains in the Al-Jala’ Street and several areas around the Shifa Medical Center in Gaza, after bombing their homes and many buildings in the area.
The army said that one of its officers of the Nahal Brigade was killed during the Shifa invasion, bringing the number of soldiers who were killed by Palestinian fighters since October 7, 2023, to 593, including 250 since Israel initiated the ground invasion of Gaza on October 27.
The army also said that it “managed to control the entire Shifa medical center,” after surrounding patients and wounding Palestinians, in addition to the families that sheltered there, before forcing the Palestinians out of various branches, and abducting dozens of them including staffers.
In addition, the army fired many missiles and shells at several parts of Gaza City, killing and wounding dozens of Palestinians, including women and children, especially in a home in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood.
Furthermore, the army and the navy fired several missiles and shells at homes and buildings in the northwestern areas of the Shati’ refugee camp, in Gaza, causing many casualties.
The army also fired a missile at a home in the Sawarha area in the Nusseirat refugee camp, in central Gaza, killing at least nine Palestinians and wounding dozens.

In Jabalia, in northern Gaza, the Israeli army fired a missile at a home for the Al-Banna family, leveling the entire building, killing at least eight, and wounding dozens, including many women and children.
In Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, the army fired barrages of missiles and shells at homes and buildings in the central and western parts of the city, causing dozens of casualties.
In related news, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is refusing to grant his negotiations team in Doha more authority that could lead to a breakthrough in the ceasefire talks and the release of Israeli captives in Gaza in exchange for releasing Palestinian detainees.
Israeli sources said the talks will fail if the negotiation team continues to be restricted in what it can or cannot decide.
Netanyahu’s main coalition partners, especially the extreme Itamar Ben-Gvir the Israeli National Security Minister of the fanatic Jewish Power Party, and Finance Minister, Bezalel Yoel Smotrich of the far-right fanatic National Religious party, who threatened to leave the coalition if Netanyahu “releases Palestinians detainees with blood on their hands,” according to the two fanatic ministers.
Dominic Allen, UN Population Fund’s (UNFPA) Representative for the State of Palestine, told Al-Jazeera that the situation in Gaza is catastrophic, and added that children and pregnant women are facing disastrous conditions.
Allen also said that the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip suffer severe food insecurity and expressed deep concerns regarding the fate of pregnant women, newborns, and children, due to dehydration and malnutrition.
Francesca Albanese, UN Special Rapporteur in the occupied Palestinian Territories, said “Israel does not want witnesses to its ethnic cleansing in Gaza.”
Her statements came after Israel refused to allow Philippe Lazzarini, Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East, from entering the Gaza Strip.
“The highest number of people ever recorded as facing human-made famine, along with mass killings, constant harm & creation of conditions that gut life of humanity has a name: Genocide, Israel wants no witnesses, no truth-tellers,” ’ Albanese said on X.
The Palestinian Health Ministry said Israel committed eight massacres against entire families in Gaza, on Monday, and added that 81 of the slain Palestinians and 116 of the wounded have been transferred to hospitals.
Israel has now killed at least 31.726 Palestinians and injured more than 73.792, mostly women and children, in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023.
