The Egyptian authorities handed over, on Saturday evening, the bodies of two Palestinian fishermen, who were shot by the Egyptian navy, on Friday, in the southern besieged Gaza Strip, while a third wounded brother, remains in the custody of the Egyptian authorities.
Sources at the Rafah crossing told Jerusalem “Quds” Press, that the corpses of the two young brothers, Mahmoud and Hassan Al-Zaazoua were received at the crossing from the Egyptian authorities.
The Egyptian Navy opened fire at the fishing boat, killing two of the three brothers, and wounding the third. The Egyptian authorities took the corpses, and the injured brother into custody, confiscating their boat.
Palestinian factions criticized the Egyptian navy’s killing of the unarmed Palestinian fishermen, and appealed to the Egyptian authorities to release the youngest brother Yasser.
The Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR) released a statement demanding that all forces refrain from shooting with the intent to kill, to comply with the principle of proportionality.
