A Palestinian was killed and four others injured on Friday evening, when Israeli forces targeted a tent sheltering displaced Palestinians in the Al-Mawasi area, west of Khan Younis, in the southern Gaza Strip.
WAFA correspondent reported that artillery shells struck a displacement tent, wounding five citizens, including four children; they were transported to Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, where one citizen succumbed to their injuries.
The ARAB 48 News website reported heavy gunfire from occupation tanks south of Khan Younis, artillery fire to the east of Khan Younis, while military vehicles fired live rounds east of the Al-Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip.
It quoted medical sources and eyewitnesses who said that a Palestinian young man sustained a live gunshot wound near the Bani Suheila roundabout, east of Khan Younis, while Navy ships opened fire off the coast of the city.
According to the latest statistical report by the Palestinian Health Ministry, Israeli forces have killed 1,007 Palestinians in Gaza, and wounded 3,165 others since the so-called “ceasefire” between Israel and the resistance factions in Gaza, which came into effect on October 11, 2025.
Since the beginning of the Israeli military onslaught against the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, Israel has killed 73,018 Palestinians and wounded 173,273 others.
