The Ministry of Health in Gaza released its latest daily update on Saturday, confirming that two Palestinians were killed and twenty‑five others were injured in the past twenty‑four hours as a result of ongoing Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip.
Medical teams noted that the number of casualties is likely higher, as many victims remain trapped under collapsed buildings and in areas emergency crews are still unable to reach.
Rising Toll Since the “Ceasefire”
According to the ministry, the period following the ceasefire that took effect on October 11, 2025, has seen a steady increase in casualties.
Since that date, 576 Palestinians have been killed and 1,543 injured, while 717 bodies have been recovered from destroyed neighborhoods.
Officials say the figures reflect both continued Israeli violations and the delayed retrieval of victims from areas previously inaccessible due to bombardment or the presence of military forces.
Cumulative Casualties Since October 7, 2023
The ministry also updated the cumulative toll from the start of the genocide on October 7, 2023. The total number of Palestinians killed has now reached 72,027, while 171,651 have been injured.
The ministry noted that 174 additional fatalities were recently added to the official count after their identities were verified and approved by the committee responsible for certifying the names of the dead between January 30 and February 6, 2026.
Health officials continue to warn that the true scale of the devastation may be even greater, as rescue crews face severe challenges in accessing many areas due to destroyed roads, unexploded ordnance, and the collapse of emergency response infrastructure.
On Saturday, UNICEF said Saturday that conditions in the Gaza Strip remain extremely fragile and continue to pose deadly risks for large numbers of children.
The agency noted that children are still being exposed to airstrikes and are suffering the consequences of the near‑total collapse of essential civilian systems, including health care, clean water, and education, all of which have been pushed to the brink after months of bombardment.
The organization warned that the combination of direct attacks and the breakdown of basic services has left children in Gaza facing escalating dangers each day.
UNICEF stressed that the situation cannot improve without a sustained ceasefire and unrestricted access for humanitarian aid.
