Two Palestinians, including a child, were killed Monday afternoon in an Israeli drone strike targeting a civilian gathering in Bani Suheila, east of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip.
Medical sources confirmed that the victims died instantly when the unmanned aircraft fired on the area, marking yet another deadly breach of the ceasefire agreement declared on October 11, 2025.
The source added that the slain Palestinians were moved to Nasser Medical Center in Khan Younis city.
The drone strike in Khan Younis follows a series of attacks in recent days, including artillery shelling in Deir al-Balah, airstrikes in Gaza City, and demolitions in Rafah.
Despite the declared truce, Israeli forces have continued to carry out airstrikes, artillery shelling, and demolitions across Gaza.
On Sunday morning, Israeli occupation forces killed a Palestinian in a drone strike targeting Bani Suheila.
On Saturday evening, two Palestinians were killed; a child from the Al-Astal family was killed in Khan Younis after an explosive device left behind by Israeli forces detonated, while a young man, Ahmad Nimir Nassar, was killed after an Israeli artillery shell struck near the Tel al-Akhdar area east of al-Bureij refugee camp, in central Gaza.
Civil defense teams remain overwhelmed, with many areas inaccessible due to debris and the threat of renewed strikes.
The presence of unexploded Israeli ordnance has also turned neighborhoods into lethal minefields, further endangering displaced families and children returning to devastated homes.
The Ministry of Health reports that since the ceasefire took effect, 243 Palestinians have been killed, 619 wounded, and 528 bodies recovered from beneath the rubble—many of them from earlier bombardments. These figures reflect a pattern of ongoing violations that have rendered the ceasefire largely symbolic.
Since the start of Israel’s genocide in Gaza on October 7, 2023, the cumulative toll has reached at least 69,179 killed and more 170,690 injured, with thousands still missing or trapped under collapsed buildings.
Among the slain Palestinians are 20,000 children in addition to 463 deaths due to starvation, including 157 children. More than 33,000 women and girls have been killed by Israel since October 7, 2023.
Human rights organizations and UN officials have condemned Israel’s repeated violations of the “ceasefire,” calling for international accountability and protection for Gaza’s civilian population.
The targeting of civilians, including children, in drone strikes and the continued use of heavy weaponry in populated areas raise serious concerns under international humanitarian law.
