Israeli occupation soldiers have continued their aggression on Tulkarem city, located in the northwestern part of the occupied West Bank, and its refugee camps for the 69th consecutive day, including 56 days of intensified invasions targeting the Nur Shams refugee camp.
Early Saturday, Israeli soldiers deployed additional military units to Tulkarem and its refugee camps, heavily stationing infantry troops in their neighborhoods. The soldiers invaded and ransacked dozens of homes and fired live rounds and flares in many neighborhoods.
Dozens of soldiers remain stationed in several homes within Tulkarem and Nur Shams refugee camps, after converting many into military outposts. Military vehicles are heavily deployed across the city’s streets, particularly along Nablus Street and around the camps, enforcing a suffocating siege.
At dawn Saturday, Nur Shams refugee camp witnessed intense firing of flares as infantry soldiers invaded several homes in the Al-Maslakh neighborhood, while sounds of destruction were heard from within the homes.
In addition, an armored military D10 bulldozer was seen moving through Al-Maslakh toward Jabal Al-Nasr, raising fears among residents of potential demolitions or land leveling.
Simultaneously, Israeli soldiers surrounded the Nur Shams cemetery, invading and conducting searches within its grounds, while military reinforcements, including armored vehicles and a water tanker, were deployed to the Al-Manshiyya neighborhood in the refugee camp.
Furthermore, the soldiers invaded and caused damage to many homes and cars in the forcibly depopulated Tulkarem refugee camp, and continued the destruction of infrastructure, especially in the Rabay’a neighborhood.
The soldiers also abducted a young man after they stopped a car at the road leading to Sheika suburb. They army fired many live rounds and gas bombs to force the Palestinian to leave the area.
In related news, the soldiers installed a military roadblock on the Nablus Street, in front of the Tulkarem refugee camp, before storming and ransacked a restaurant, assaulting and interrogating its workers.
Late Friday night, Israeli soldiers spread through neighborhoods in Tulkarem refugee camp, firing flares in the Al-Matar neighborhood.
The ongoing escalation has left the refugee camp entirely deserted, as residents were forcibly displaced. The camp now stands devoid of life, following the complete destruction of its infrastructure and the burning, demolition, and looting of dozens of homes and establishments.
Meanwhile, Israeli military vehicles provocatively patrolled the streets and neighborhoods of Tulkarem city during the night, particularly around the central market, Martyr Thabet Thabet Square, Hospital Street, and Nablus Street.
Israeli forces continue to seize homes and residential buildings along Nablus Street and in the city’s northern neighborhood, converting them into military outposts.
Military vehicles remain stationed in these areas, while soldiers impose further restrictions on residents by setting up sudden roadblocks along Nablus Street, which has been blocked in both directions with dirt mounds.
The ongoing aggression on Tulkarem and its refugee camps has resulted in the killing of 13 Palestinians, including a child and two women, one of whom was eight months pregnant.
Dozens have been injured or abducted, while over 4,000 families from Tulkarem and Nur Shams refugee camps have been forcibly displaced.
Additionally, dozens of families from the city’s northern neighborhood were evicted after their homes were seized and turned into military outposts.
The aggression has caused widespread destruction to infrastructure, homes, shops, and vehicles. Israeli forces have demolished 396 homes and partially destroyed 2,573 others in Tulkarem and Nur Shams refugee camps. Entrances and alleyways within the camps have been sealed with dirt mounds, further isolating the residents and restricting their movement.
