On Tuesday morning, Israeli military vehicles invaded Beit Awwa, a town southwest of Hebron in the occupied West Bank, and detonated the family home of a Palestinian detainee.
Media sources reported that a large military force, including the Combat Engineering Corps, surrounded and isolated the area around the home of detainee Ezzeddin Masalma, forcing neighboring families to evacuate their residences.
Soldiers then wired the home with explosives and carried out the detonation after removing Masalma’s family from the property.
The army claims that Masalma was responsible for a shooting attack near the Tunnel Road in Bethlehem in December 2024, which resulted in the death of an Israeli colonizer and injuries to three others.
Masalma was abducted hours after the attack when soldiers launched a large-scale search operation and imposed a military siege on Bethlehem governorate, closing dozens of streets, including the main road between Bethlehem and Hebron.
