On Wednesday afternoon, Palestinian medical sources confirmed the death of a young Palestinian man who succumbed to serious wounds he suffered when the Israeli army invaded the Balata refugee camp north of the northern West Bank city of Nablus at dawn.
The sources identified the slain young man as Abdul-Nasser Mustafa Riyahi, 24, and added that the soldiers shot him in the head.
The medics rushed Abdul-Naser to a hospital in Nablus, where he was immediately admitted to surgery but succumbed to his wounds.
It is worth mentioning that Abdul-Nasser was an officer with the Palestinian National Security Forces.
His father said Abdul-Nasser was heading to a store to buy some electric supplies for his apartment which he is furnishing when he was ambushed and killed by the undercover Israeli soldiers who shot him in the neck and several parts of his body.
The invasion began when undercover Israeli soldiers infiltrated the refugee camp and surrounded a home before many army vehicles invaded the area, leading to protests.
The soldiers fired many live rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets, and gas bombs at the Palestinians, causing several injuries.
Abdul-Nasser’s father is a senior officer with the Palestinian Intelligence Service, and his uncle, Wa’el Riyahi, was also killed by the Israeli army in the early 2000’s.
