On Tuesday, an Israeli soldier shot and killed a Palestinian woman near Salfit, in the occupied West Bank’s central region.
The Palestinian Health Ministry reported that the soldiers killed Amana Ibrahim Mohammad Yacoub, 30, near a traffic light at the entrance of Hares village, west of Salfit.
The Israeli army claimed that the woman was “armed with a knife” and had attempted to “carry out a stabbing attack” before being shot.
The army added that no injuries were reported among the soldiers or the paramilitary settlers in the area.
An Israeli army spokesperson alleged that the soldiers fatally shot the woman, who had “hurled stones at the soldiers and attempted a stabbing attack.”
With the killing of the Palestinian woman, Israeli soldiers and paramilitary colonizers have now killed 119 Palestinians, including 21 children and seven women, in several parts of the occupied West Bank.
The army has killed 51 Palestinians in Jenin, 20 in Tubas, 15 in Nablus, 14 in Tulkarem, 5 in Hebron, 4 in Bethlehem, 3 in Qalqilia, 3 in Jerusalem, 2 in Ramallah, and 2 in Salfit.
This brings the number of slain Palestinians, killed by Israeli soldiers and paramilitary colonizers in the occupied West Bank since October 7, 2023, to 954; 275 in Jenin, 87 in Tubas, 107 in Nablus, 210 in Tulkarem, 82 in Hebron, 25 in Bethlehem, 36 in Qalqilia, 61 in Ramallah, 6 in Salfit, 53 in Jerusalem and 12 in Jericho and the Northern Plains.
In the Gaza Strip, the army killed more than 2,575 Palestinians, including at least 527 children, 317 women and 111 elders since the beginning of this year.
Since October 7,2023, Israel has killed more than 50,579 Palestinians, including at least 15,617 children, 9,803 women and 3,850 elders, in the Gaza Strip.
