Several Palestinians sustained injuries on Thursday following a violent assault by illegal paramilitary Israeli colonizers in Masafer Yatta, located south of Hebron, in the southern part of the occupied West Bank.

The attack, carried out by paramilitary colonizers from the illegal outpost of Susiya, resulted in considerable damage to homes, vehicles, and agricultural equipment belonging to local residents.

Community activist Osama Makhamra reported that a group of colonizers stormed the residential area of Ghzeiwa, adjacent to Susiya, and physically assaulted residents.

Among those injured was elderly resident Jabarin Makhamra, who suffered head wounds and was transferred to Yatta Government Hospital for treatment. Several others sustained bruises and contusions and were treated on site.

The colonizers also smashed windows, vandalized private vehicles, and destroyed two agricultural tractors owned by the Shatat and Makhamra families.

In a separate incident in the nearby village of Al-Mufaqarah, the colonizers chased Palestinian shepherds and beat their livestock with clubs, killing two sheep and injuring several others. The animals belonged to local resident Raed Hamamda.

These attacks form part of a broader pattern of escalating violations by illegal paramilitary colonizers in Masafer Yatta, where Palestinian communities face ongoing threats to their homes, land, and safety.

Rights organizations have repeatedly warned that such assaults are carried out with impunity and often under the protection of Israeli occupation forces.

All of Israel’s colonies in the occupied West Bank, including those in and around occupied East Jerusalem, are illegal under International Law, the Fourth Geneva Convention in addition to various United Nations and Security Council resolutions. They also constitute war crimes under International Law.

Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention states: “The Occupying Power shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies.” It also prohibits the “individual or mass forcible transfers, as well as deportations of protected persons from occupied territory”.
