Israeli occupation forces invaded the town of Anata, northeast of occupied Jerusalem, on Thursday evening, abducting three siblings and causing numerous cases of tear‑gas inhalation during an assault on a family wedding, in yet another escalation across the occupied West Bank.

Local sources reported that the soldiers invaded the town and broke into a wedding celebration for the Refa’ey family in its center.

Troops surrounded the gathering, prevented participants from leaving for more than two hours, and then abducted the three brothers: Sa’id, Omar, and Jamal Nasser Refa’ey.

Witnesses said the soldiers fired large quantities of toxic gas canisters at the wedding guests, leading to widespread suffocation among residents, including elderly people, women, and children. Troops also assaulted several young men by pushing and shoving them during the attack.

During the same invasion, Israeli forces broke into several homes in the town, subjecting them to extensive searches that included the destruction of furniture and household belongings.

A young woman sustained facial bruises after soldiers assaulted her, coinciding with the continued firing of toxic gas canisters throughout the area.
