On Sunday, a group of illegal paramilitary Israeli colonizers invaded Beitillu village, northwest of the central West Bank city of Ramallah, and Masafer Yatta, south of the southern West Bank city of Hebron, attacking several Palestinians.
Nasr Radwan, the head of the Beitillu village council, stated that more than 50 paramilitary Israeli colonizers invaded the village from its eastern area.
Radwan added that the colonizers attacked several Palestinians who intercepted them and tried to prevent them from invading their homes.
He also stated that after the locals managed to repel the attack, the colonizers invaded farmlands and set fire to the land before the Palestinians extinguished the flames.
In Hebron, the colonizers invaded Masafer Yatta and hurled stones at Palestinian farmers and shepherds near the illegal Susya colony, which was built on stolen land in the area.
Osama Makhamra, a local nonviolent activist against Israel’s illegal colonialist activities, stated that the colonizers also tried to break into several homes and threatened to shoot Palestinians if they stepped outside.
In related news, Israeli soldiers invaded Nabi Saleh village, northwest of Ramallah, and fired several gas bombs and concussion grenades, particularly in the village’s center.
In Bethlehem, the army entered various neighborhoods and streets before searching several apartments in a residential building on Jamal Abdul-Nasser Street. The soldiers also surrounded the entire area, preventing Palestinians from entering or leaving.
All of Israel’s colonies in the occupied West Bank, including those in and around occupied East Jerusalem, are illegal under International Law, the Fourth Geneva Convention in addition to various United Nations and Security Council resolutions. They also constitute war crimes under International Law.
Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention states: “The Occupying Power shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies.” It also prohibits the “individual or mass forcible transfers, as well as deportations of protected persons from occupied territory”.
