Sunday morning before dawn, the intense Israeli bombardment on the civilian population of Gaza continued.
A number of Palestinians were wounded in Israeli shelling north of Gaza City that targeted the home of journalist Mahmoud Al-Amoudi in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, north of Gaza City.
15 were reported killed in an airstrike at 4:53 am on Sunday in Gaza City. No further details are available at the time of this report.
The remaining Palestinian residents of the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza are enduring unbearable living conditions as the Israeli occupation continues its genocidal war on Gaza, with the majority of the population currently displaced.
Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli occupation forces have launched an aggression on the Gaza Strip, resulting in the killing of 52,810 citizens, the majority of whom were children and women, and the injury of 119,473 others, according to a preliminary toll, with a number of victims still under the rubble and on the streets, unable to be reached by ambulances and rescue teams.
Meanwhile, an Egyptian source has told Al-Araby Al-Jadeed that recent discussions have revealed key shifts in the American position regarding post-war conditions in Gaza:
1. Delayed Monitoring of Resistance Armament
Representatives of the US administration have signaled acceptance of postponing any decision on monitoring Hamas’s weaponry until after the war in Gaza concludes.
2. Resistance Leadership Will Remain
Washington has expressed skepticism over the feasibility of deporting resistance group leaders from the Gaza Strip, acknowledging that such a move is unlikely to succeed.
3. Netanyahu’s Strategy Losing Ground
Figures close to Donald Trump have reportedly lost faith in Netanyahu’s policy of using military pressure to secure the release of Israeli detainees, describing the approach as ineffective.
4. Unified Detainee Agreement
The US remains committed to a unified release, seeking the simultaneous return of all living detainees along with the handover of bodies in a single, coordinated exchange.
Also, Al Quds News reported that the Al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas’s military wing, published a new video showing two Israeli soldiers held in Gaza. One of the prisoners is in serious psychological and physical distress. His fellow prisoner says he recently attempted suicide.
In the video, the soldier Yosef-Chaim Ohana speaks calmly but urgently. He reveals that Elkana Bohbot, lying beside him, is deteriorating fast. He says his comrade constantly tries to harm himself and nearly succeeded days ago—until a Qassam fighter intervened to stop him.
“We’ve known for many months this war puts us in grave danger,” said Ohana. “He doesn’t eat or drink. We barely have anything ourselves. He only thinks of his son Re’em and his wife Rivka.”
“I stopped eating too,” he added, “so my fate will be the same as his. Our fate is in your hands.”
In the video, Bohbot appears unresponsive, eyes closed, showing clear signs of exhaustion.
Addressing Israeli pilots, Ohana said, “I’m proud of those who refused to fly. You knew it endangered us. But what about those who still fly and bomb us and the civilians? What do you tell your families? What do you tell ours?”
He turned directly to Sara Netanyahu, the Israeli Prime Minister’s wife:
“Some of us are still alive. You know how many. Why don’t others? What’s the number you want to remain alive? Less than 20? More? Say it.”
The soldier grew emotional, asking, “How has this war lasted so long? A year and seven months? What more needs to happen? What haven’t you done yet?”
He warned that continued bloodshed is now on the hands of Israeli decision-makers.
“A whole nation wants this nightmare to end,” he said. “Every drop of blood from now on is witness against you. Enough. It’s time to stop this war. Time is running out.”
