Updated: Since last night and into Tuesday afternoon, Israeli occupation forces have invaded several areas across the occupied West Bank, carrying out a widespread abduction campaign, targeting dozens of homes and residential buildings, before abducting at least 30 Palestinians, including children and former political prisoners.

The Commission for Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) stated that Israeli occupation forces have intensified their abduction operations and field interrogations at an accelerated pace, particularly in comparison to the days preceding the outbreak of war between Iran and Israel.

Targeted Abductions & Repressive Policies

Many of those abducted were subjected to field interrogations on accusations related to video recordings on their phones capturing missile impacts or other content that Israeli forces classify as “incitement” on social media.

The commission and the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society emphasized that these ongoing abductions are occurring in the context of the ongoing genocide in Gaza, which has persisted for more than a year and a half, alongside Israel’s full-scale military aggression across the West Bank.

Israeli forces have employed a series of oppressive policies during their invasions, including:

  • Systematic field interrogations, targeting hundreds of Palestinians, often involving entire families.
  • Holding civilians hostage under arbitrary detention.
  • Forcing families out of their homes, subsequently turning residential buildings into military bases.
  • Deliberate destruction of infrastructure.
  • Extrajudicial killings and targeted assassinations.

On Monday evening, two 15-year-old children were shot and wounded by Israeli forces in Al-Yamun, a town west of Jenin, in the occupied West Bank’s northern part.

Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said its medics rushed both children to a hospital, one suffering from shrapnel wounds to the neck, while the other was shot in the thigh with live ammunition.

Local sources reported that Israeli forces invaded the town, spreading around Al-Arqam Mosque and several streets.

The soldiers fired live rounds and tear gas bombs, before invading the home of Ghalban Freihat, conducted searches, and shut down a shop in the town center.

In related news, the soldiers  forces set up a temporary military roadblock at the southern entrance of Qalqilia in the northern West Bank on Tuesday.

Eyewitnesses stated that the military roadblock was placed at the entrance to the town of Hableh, where soldiers stopped vehicles and inspected passengers’ identification cards, causing severe traffic congestion in the area.
