Israeli forces killed a Palestinian man, on Thursday, after shooting him with live ammunition at the entrance to the Nur Shams refugee camp, east of Tulkarem in the northwestern part of the occupied West Bank.
The Palestinian Health Ministry announced that occupation forces shot and killed the citizen, Walid Hassan Saad Badir, 61, at the entrance to the Nur Shams refugee camp.
Media sources reported that Israeli soldiers shot and seriously wounded Badir, a resident of the Tulkarem refugee camp, while he was in the “Jisr al-Ghazal” area, near the eastern entrance of the Nur Shams camp.
The sources added that occupation soldiers, positioned in a military barracks at the entrance to the Nur Shams camp, shot Badir in the thigh with a live round while he passed by on his bicycle.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) reported that its ambulance crews transported the seriously injured man to the hospital for treatment, however he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
For 145 consecutive days, the Israeli army has persisted in its siege and aggression against the Nur Shams refugee camp, while occupation forces have besieged Tulkarem city and the Tulkarem refugee camp for 158 consecutive days.
During the ongoing offensives, Israeli forces have killed 17 citizens in the Tulkarem governorate, including 2 women and 2 children, in addition to wounding dozens of others.
The army has forced at least 25,000 Palestinians from their homes in the Tulkarem and Nur Shams refugee camps, in addition to demolishing more than 600 homes and damaging 2,573 others, destroying commercial shops, vehicles, and vital infrastructure.
Since the beginning of the year, Israeli forces and colonizers have killed 168 Palestinian citizens in the occupied West Bank, including 30 children and 6 women.
Occupation forces have killed 59 Palestinians in Jenin, 28 in Nablus, 26 in Tubas, 17 in Tulkarem, 10 in Hebron, 9 in Ramallah, 6 in Bethlehem, 5 in Jerusalem, 4 in Qalqilia, 3 in Salfit, and 1 in Jericho.
In the Gaza Strip, the overall death toll since October 7, 2023 has increased to 57,130, including women and children, while at least 135,173 Palestinians have sustained various degrees of injuries as a result of Israel’s military onslaught.
