Israeli forces shot and killed, on Saturday, a Palestinian young man in the town of Anabta, east of Tulkarem in the northwestern part of the occupied West Bank, and abducted four, including a former prisoner.
On Saturday morning, medical sources at the Martyr Thabet Thabet Governmental Hospital in Tulkarem, announced the death of the young man, Moamen Omar Abu Asal, 22, after he was shot by Israeli forces at dawn.
Media sources said that the army invaded the town from its eastern entrance, deploying soldiers along many streets including Al-Sikka Street, and opened fire with live rounds, critically injuring Abu Asal.
It was added that the wounded young man was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
During the incursion, occupation forces stormed and searched the homes of the former prisoner, Mohammad Nassim Abdo, and the two brothers, Louay and Hussein Mohammad Shehadeh, before abducting them.
The army also invaded the village of Ramin, east of Tulkarem, and the suburbs of Ezbet At-Tayyah and Ezbet Al-Jarad, southeast of the city, and conducted a search operation.
Later it was reported that soldiers abducted the young man, Ahmad Mustafa Mahmoud Sanjak, after breaking into and searching his home in the village of Ramin.
In the afternoon, Palestinians gathered at the Martyr Thabet Thabet Governmental Hospital to receive the body, marching through the streets towards the town of Anabta.
Mourners carried the body of the slain Abu Asal on their shoulders to his family home in Anabta, where his family said their final goodbyes, before performing the funeral prayer at the Old Mosque, and laying his body to rest in the Eastern Cemetery.
The national and Islamic forces in the city declared a general strike in protest of the occupation forces’ aggression against the Palestinian people in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
