On Thursday, illegal Israeli settlers killed a Palestinian man and injured eight others, including one seriously, in the town of Surif, northwest of Hebron in the southern occupied West Bank.
The Palestinian Health Ministry announced the death of the citizen, Mohammad Ahmad Mahmoud Al-Hour, 48, and the serious injury of another after being shot by Israeli settlers with live rounds in the town of Surif.
Hazem Ghneimat, the Mayor of Surif, told the WAFA News Agency a group of illegal colonizers, under army protection, fired live ammunition towards Palestinian citizens in the “Al-Qurainat” area in the town, while they were attempting to extinguish a fire caused by the settlers.
Ghneimat added that the colonizers killed one and injured at least eight others who were transported to hospitals and a medical center in the town.
For its part, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) reported that its ambulance crews transported two victims who sustained gunshot wounds, including Al-Hour who was shot in the neck and later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The PRCS added that a 40-year-old man was shot in the abdomen, while two other citizens were treated for various injuries as a result of assault by illegal settlers.
The Ma’an News Agency reported that the slain man’s brother, Ali Ahmad Mahmoud Al-Hour, 35 years old, was shot in the abdomen with a live round, adding that the bullet exited through his back; he was transported to the Hebron Governmental Hospital for treatment.
