An Israeli sniper shot and killed a disabled Palestinian man, on Wednesday, while he was inside his home in the Nur Shams camp, east of Tulkarem in the northwestern part of the West Bank.

Media sources said that on Wednesday night, family members found the body of the disabled man, Ayed Mahmoud Nimer Abu Al-Haija, 64, covered in blood inside his home, in the Nur Shams refugee camp.

Sources added that the slain man had been shot by an Israeli sharpshooter with live rounds while he was in his own home, and was only discovered after he had succumbed to his wounds.

It is important to mention that occupation forces imposed a siege on the camp and prevented ambulance crews from reaching the slain man; his body was subsequently transported to hospital.

Media sources said, on Wednesday night, that the Israeli army continues to besiege the Nur Shams refugee camp, with the addition of more military reinforcements.

According to Nihad Al-Shawish, the head of the Nur Shams camp services committee, told WAFA that Israeli military vehicles were present at all entrances to the camp and in several neighborhoods.

Al-Shawish added that soldiers invaded and searched several citizens’ homes in many neighborhoods, accompanied by police dogs, detaining their owners, and subjecting them to interrogation.

He also stated that occupation forces besieged several citizens’ homes, seizing them, and converting them into military barracks, and said that the incursion caused fear and terror among the women and children in the camp.

Al-Shawish told WAFA that the army set up a field investigation center outside the Nur Shams refugee camp, where detainees were transferred for interrogation.

A citizen of the camp, and head of the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society in Tulkarem, Ibrahim al-Nimr, told WAFA that Israeli forces detained dozens of citizens, most of whom are young men, and transferred them to the field investigation point in a commercial facility on the outskirts of the camp.

In related news, occupation forces fatally shot the young man, Mohammad Ibrahim Tawfiq Abed, 32, in the town of Kafr Dan, northwest of Jenin in the northern occupied West Bank.

Soldiers also shot a child with live ammunition, in the town of Al-Yamoun, northwest of Jenin, in addition to shooting another child and a young man in the city of Jenin.

Before dawn Wednesday, an Israeli drone strike injured two Palestinians in the Nur Shams refugee camp, while a large army force, accompanied by four military bulldozers, invaded the city of Tulkarem.

Media sources said that Israeli soldiers besieged hospitals, obstructed the work of ambulances, and positioned sharpshooters in the vicinity of the Nur Shams refugee camp, while reconnaissance drones flew in the sky overhead.

Military bulldozers caused destruction to the vital infrastructure of the city of Tulkarem, including streets, and a water network.
