On Tuesday afternoon, Israeli soldiers shot a Palestinian child and abducted another during a funeral procession in Beit Ummar town, north of Hebron, in the southern part of the occupied West Bank.

Local media activist Mohammad Ayyad Awad said the soldiers closed the town’s main entrance and prevented the Palestinians from reaching the local cemetery.

He added that the soldiers shot one Palestinian, 17, with a live round in his right leg and abducted a child, 13, before moving him to an unknown destination.

The Palestinians were marching in the funeral procession of a deceased Palestinian, but the soldiers intercepted them and prevented them from reaching the ceremony, leading to protests.

The army fired gas bombs and concussion grenades, causing many Palestinians to suffer the effects of tear gas inhalation.
