On Thursday evening, Israeli soldiers attacked multiple Palestinian homes and uprooted trees in Kifl Hares village, northwest of Salfit in the central occupied West Bank.

Media sources reported that dozens of soldiers invaded the village to escort groups of illegal paramilitary colonizers to an archaeological site in the area.

The soldiers raided and searched several homes, closed streets, and prevented Palestinians from accessing certain areas, particularly those containing old Islamic shrines and historical sites.

In related news, Israeli soldiers cut down and uprooted at least 200 Palestinian olive trees between Hares and Kifl Hares, northwest of Salfit, on Thursday.

A day earlier, soldiers had already destroyed dozens of trees in the same area as part of ongoing work to construct a new colonialist road on confiscated Palestinian lands.

All of Israel’s colonies in the occupied West Bank, including those in and around occupied East Jerusalem, are illegal under International Law, the Fourth Geneva Convention in addition to various United Nations and Security Council resolutions. They also constitute war crimes under International Law.

Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention states: “The Occupying Power [Israel] shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies [Palestine].” It also prohibits the “individual or mass forcible transfers, as well as deportations of protected persons from occupied territory”.
