On Wednesday dawn, Israeli soldiers killed a young Palestinian man in Jenin, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.

Dr. Wisam Baker, the director of Khalil Suleiman Hospital in Jenin, said the soldiers shot and killed Mohammad Maher Nafe’ Mer’ey, 25, from the Jenin refugee camp, during protests that took place after the army invaded Jenin.

Dr. Wisam said Mohammad was shot with several live rounds in the heart and abdomen and was then rushed to the hospital. But at the hospital, he succumbed to serious wounds, despite all efforts to revive him.

The doctor added that the Israeli soldiers also shot another Palestinian, who was rushed to the hospital and is in a stable condition.

Furthermore, the soldiers occupied rooftops of tall buildings in Jenin and the Jenin refugee camp and used them as firing posts for their sharpshooters.

Montaser Sammour, the head of the Jenin office of the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS), said the soldiers abducted Yahia Yousef Aref Jaber, 23, and Ahmad As’ad Abdul-Halim Nabhan, 26, from their homes in Jenin.

During the invasion, Palestinian resistance fighters exchanged fire with the soldiers in the city of Jenin, and in the Jenin refugee camp.

Dozens of Palestinians marched in Jenin carrying the corpse of the slain young man while chanting for ongoing resistance until liberation and independence are achieved and calling for national unity among all Palestinians and their factions.

Also, all civil society institutions and political factions declared a general strike in Jenin during the funeral procession and ceremony that will be held on Thursday afternoon.

The city of Jenin, the Jenin refugee camp, and many surrounding villages and towns have been subject to escalating daily violations, including the violent storming and searching of homes, and the abduction of dozens of Palestinians.
