On Sunday dawn, Palestinian medical sources confirmed that Israeli soldiers killed a young man near Deir Sharaf town, west of Nablus, in the occupied West Bank’s northern part.
The sources said the soldiers killed Ahmad Atef Awawda, 19, from Doura town, southwest of Hebron.
According to sources close to his family, the young man was killed while exchanging fire with Israeli soldiers, adding that he was a member of the Jenin Brigades armed resistance group.
On Saturday, Israeli soldiers killed Mahmoud Bassem Ekhmayyes, 18, from Beit Ummar north of Hebron, Yousef Nader Suleiman Edrees, 19, from Hebron, Ahmad Abdul-Naser Rabi, 13, from Qalqilia, Amro Yousef Aabed, 17, and Mohammad Awad Jarbou’a, 24, from Betunia west of Ramallah, and Karam Naser Al-Ayedi, 22, from Ein Al-Sultan refugee camp in Jericho.
In related news, Israeli daily Haaretz said at least 250 Israelis were killed and more than 1590 (Haaretz) wounded when Palestinian fighters infiltrated Israeli areas near Gaza by land, sea, and air.
The Israeli army launched massive air strikes in Gaza, killing at least 232 Palestinians and wounding more than 1600.
